Module's description
Screen navigation
Every screen of the module shares the same skeleton: a header at the top, four columns of parameters (one per pot, edited with the encoder when relevant), and a footer showing what the four buttons do on this screen. On top of that, three navigation primitives are global to the whole module — learn them once, and you can move through every screen confidently.
The three primitives
Burger menu
The burger menu lives in the top-left corner of every screen and holds the save / load / new / settings actions for the current context.
To open it: turn the encoder fully to the left until the burger icon highlights, then press the encoder.
The contents differ per screen:
- PROJECT burger: Project browser, Save project, Save project as…, New project (templates), Settings → Calibration, System info.
- INSTRUMENT burger: instrument browser, Save instrument, Save instrument as…, New instrument (templates).
- Other screens may have their own contextual burger.
Footer buttons (1–4)
The four buttons sit directly under the screen, right above the four pots. Their action is shown on the footer row and changes per screen — switching tabs, toggling mute/solo, opening MOD ASSIGN, replacing a slot, etc.
A useful convention: long-pressing the button under a parameter opens that parameter's MOD ASSIGN screen, where you can assign up to 3 modulations + tweak smooth, stepped and MIDI CC.
Shortcut menu (ALT + encoder)
The shortcut menu is the fastest way to jump between contexts during a session. It is reachable from any screen of the module:
- Hold ALT.
- Rotate the encoder.
A grid of icons opens, listing every instrument loaded in the current project plus the project-level destinations:
- INSTR 1, INSTR 2, … (one per instrument)
- MACROS
- MIXER
- MOD MATRIX
- CLOCK
Release ALT and press the encoder to jump there. The same menu can also be opened from the PROJECT screen via the MENU > footer button.
ALT in detail
The ALT button has several roles depending on the context:
| Action | Effect |
| Press alone | Step back / cancel from most screens (returns to the parent screen). |
| Hold + rotate encoder | Open the shortcut menu (any screen). |
| Hold + press encoder (PROJECT screen) | Trigger the C2 note — handy to test a sound without a keyboard. |
| Hold + rotate a pot 1–4 | Reset the parameter above that pot to its default value. |
| Hold + press a footer button | Some screens expose alternate footer actions when ALT is held (e.g. on a Machine, ALT + FILTER tab opens the FLT ENV built-in envelope). |
Long-press patterns
Long-press is used for a few specific shortcuts you'll come to rely on:
| Where | Long-press does |
| Any parameter (button 1–4 below it) | Opens MOD ASSIGN to assign a modulation + tweak Settings. |
| PROJECT screen, encoder | Enters layout mode to edit the voice layout. |
| INSTRUMENT screen, encoder on a slot | Opens the replace module menu (same as the REPLACE footer button). |
| MACROS screen, button under a macro | Opens the MACRO MATRIX for that macro. |
| Rhythm Gen Note FX, encoder on PATTERN tab (Manual algorithm) | Enters step-edit mode to toggle individual steps. |
Tip: for performance, the most useful combo to memorise is ALT + encoder rotate to switch instrument or open the Mixer / Mod matrix / Clock / Macros from anywhere. Once it's in your fingers, you rarely need to come back to the PROJECT screen.
